Should I Install the SumoSprings or Timbrens on My Class C Motorhome to Help with Body Roll?

Updated 03/16/2026 | Published 03/10/2026

Question:

I have a 2023 class C on a 3500 sprinter. Want to add sumo to the front and back but considering Timbren for rear. My question is will the Timbren give me a rougher ride? I am trying to control body roll on the highway.

Hello Ed,

Personally, I like the SumoSprings better. I have recommended them to many people for the exact reason you are looking to add them, to get some color back into those white knuckles. I only recommend the Timbrens for someone who is under a constant load, like with an in-bed truck camper, because when you are unloaded they can cause the harsh ride you mentioned.

For your 2023 Class C on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500:

For 4 Wheel Drive: Front # SSF-327-47, Rear # SS55FR

For 2 Wheel Drive: Front # SSF-106-40, Rear # SSR-338-54

I always love hearing feedback after installation, so definitely let me know how it feels once you get them on there.

Getting things geared up for the next great adventure? Where are you headed?

I installed the sumo springs on my thor vegas that is on the ford 450 chassis, it really helped to stiffen the front and help remove some of the front end bounce and limits the side to side sway. I recommend them highly.

2013 Roadtrek 2500. Sumo front &rear. Koni red front struts, Fox shocks on rear as well as oversize rear sway bar. It handles very good. The front sumo are always under compression and the Koni control the rebound of the sumo fronts.

I have a Class c on the Sprinter 3500 chassis. I put sumo on the front and the timbren on the rear. I like the way they took out some of the sway but they did make the ride a little more stiff. However the stiffness was nothing objectionable.

@EdE If you are looking for a stiffer ride as in the body roll is still a bit much, you could add an upgraded sway bar. Since you already added the SumoSprings and Timbren, a sway bar is usually the next step to help control that side to side movement. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-1/2" Diameter # RM-1209-131 would not replace your current one. It actually installs along with your OEM sway bar to give you some extra support. This would be the right fit for the 2022 Sprinter 3500 Class C. It would be nice if we could drive them off the lot with the upgrades =)
