Looking for Trailer Wiring Harness for 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe

Updated 04/01/2026 | Published 02/14/2026

Question:

Curt told me they dont make a wiring harness that fits a 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid with trailer pre-wire connectioninch but not the factory tow package. They said to use their wiring kit part 56496. I read elsewhere that this part requires you also get a wiring kit 55151. Is this true? Curt didnt mention that. I also see that you are expecting to get a plug n play wiring harness C98RV by May, but that part description says it will fit Santa Fes with Factory Tow Package.inch Is that true or is the Hyundai pre-wire enough. That pre-fwre is 7 pin but Im assuming a four wire will be enough for an SUV with tow rating of only 2000 lbs.

Hey John, all of the trailer wiring options we have at this time for the 26 Santa Fe are considered Pre Orders which means we don't know exactly what the configurations will be unless you wanted to go with a universal harness for a 4-way like with the part # C59236. I would imagine the Curt rep was telling you what they had available at the time but only time will tell on what we will get for wiring for your vehicle.

Hey John, were you able to find a wiring option that worked for your 2026 Santa Fe Hybrid? Knowing what ended up fitting could really help others waiting on new harness options for that vehicle.

@JamesonC No, I decided to wait. I’ll preorder a Curt plug-in wiring harness and wait for it. I’ll order the curt hitch from you when I get the harness. I’d like to avoid having to pay an installer extra to splice into the existing harness when my Santa Fe came with pre-wiring installed. Plus I’m concerned about damage to the SUVs wiring with splicing. I have another vehicle that can tow, so I’m in no rush.

John T., Yep, sounds like the same situation for my 2025 Santa Fe...I'm still waiting for a 4 pin wiring harness after a year's delay from the original e-trailer date. There is a 7 pin available thru OEM (and maybe e-trailer; however, I've been unable to confirm that it fits our plug); and a 7 pin to 4 pin converter available on Amazon. I also had to hunt for my connection which I finally found between the battery and the hybrid circuitry under the rear decking...neither the dealer, the dealer's trailer hitch installer, nor e-trailer rep knew where this plug was located. Good Hunting! Rick J.
