How Would Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Install 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe

Updated 02/05/2026 | Published 02/04/2026

Question:

I already own this Redarc RED74UR controller and wanted to install it on my 2026 Hyundai SantaFe. The listing says it is not a confirmed fit and is not a recommended controller from eTrailer. Is there a specific reason this controller would not work with my car?

Hey Mark, we have a way to install the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty in your 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe but since there isn't a custom fit install harness for your vehicle you would have to hardwire it. You would need to start with the part # RED52VR for the brake controller which comes with the universal harness. Then to wire it in you would need the part # ETBC7 to convert the 4-way trailer wiring harness you have now to a 7-way as well as wire in the controller.

If you do not have a 4-way already you would need the part # C98RV which is custom fit.

What trailer wiring do you have now?

The reason the part number you mentioned does not fit is because it comes with a harness designed for a different vehicle.

Is the Santa Fe even capable of towing something that would require a trailer brake? There is probably not a harness for liability reasons. One love, ??

@?? The 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe actually has two towing capacities listed. 1,650 lb if the trailer does not have brakes and up to 4,500 if the trailer does have them.
