Where to Mount G-Force Controller in 2020 GMC Canyon With Parking Brake
Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 01/15/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2020 GMC Canyon. The instructions suggest to mount the G-Force controller in the driver side kick pannel. The problem is that the parking brake is in the way. Is there another suggested location that wont interfear with the parking brake?

Hi Tom; are you able to mount the # DM86VR G-Force controller further back or higher up where it won't interfere with the parking brake? If that won't work, you can mount it on the B-pillar (structural post between front and rear door) beside the driver seat. Just make sure you keep the proper orientation outlined in the instructions.
Where do you plan to travel next once you get your Canyon setup?

I mounted it on the right side of the console to the left of the passenger's feet. Make sure it's level front to back (side to side isn't critical). I would include photos, but apparently that's not an option.

You can mount it anywhere you have sufficient wire to move it-or add more wire. I used sticky sided velcro to mount near the brake but accidently turned it on with my toe and kicked it off the velcro once. higher or father back in would be better as long as you can reach the switch. You will want to turn it off when you stop for the day or u hook your vehicle, make sure you don’t hsve to be a contortionist to get to it lol.
