Are There Replacement Curt Weight Distribution Spring Bars

Updated 01/20/2026 | Published 01/15/2026

Question:

Hi, I use a Cort weight distribution hitch to tow my Alliance ml206 trailer. On a trip last year, we lost one of the iron stabilization arms. Do you sell those separately, or do I have to buy a whole new hitch set-up? Thats what my Blue Compass dealer told me I needed to. Thanks.

Hey Mark, we do have Curt replacement spring bars but I would need to know which system you have and what the spring bar rating is to see which you'd for sure need. For example, the part # C17073 is for a round bar setup that has a max tongue weight of 1,000 lbs. Did the bar come off while you were towing? If so, did you take any really sharp turns?

Thanks Jameson. We were in CO on a very rough rode. I think it came loose on a sharp turn then slipped out on the rough rode. I'll see if I can find the part # on the remaining bar, or the assembly and get that to you this weekend.

Hi Jameson, The 1000 lbs is correct, but my bar is square, not round. It shows a #S05295X-RA. I have pictures if needed. Thanks.

@MarkP Sounds like you are in need of the part # C17536 or the part # C17303.

Hi Jameson, Unfortunately, neither of those match what I have. I have a picture of what I need. Is there a way to send this to you?
