Today we're going to take a look at the replacement trunnion spring bar for the Curt long trunnion style weight distribution system. This bar has a 1,000 pound maximum tongue weight capacity. Now, this will replace one trunnion spring bar on your Curt long trunnion style weight distribution system. We do sell that weight distribution system separately on our website. It's part number 17302.This is a forged steel construction, give you optimum strength and durability. It has a nice carbide, powder coat finish over it to help resist rust and corrosion.
Now, this spring bar you can see comes pre-assembled with the chain attached and it's ready for installation.If you notice on the chain, you have multiple chain links which allow for a flexible adjustment of tension. It does include the spring bar, the chain fastener, the U-bolt to hold the spring, or the chain onto the spring bar. A few specs on this, the tongue weight capacity is 800 to 1,000 pounds. And the bar length of the spring bar, now the spring bar inserts into this trunnion portion right here. The length of the spring bar's is about 30 5/8th inches.
But when you go to extend this basically, this trunnion end right here will connect to your head assembly and then the end with the lift chain on it connects to the lift brackets on the weight distribution system.But that should do it, for the review on the replacement trunnion spring bar for the Curt long trunnion style weight distribution system, with 1,000 maximum tongue weight capacity.

Replace 1 trunnion spring bar for your Curt long trunnion style weight distribution system (17302). Includes spring bar, chain fastener, and U-bolts.The product is great. However Etrailer sent me 2 different length spring bars labeled the same. I called customer service and they agreed to fix the issue. However, it took them 5 more days to even get them in the mail. Maybe I'll get them in another week. This is the first time etrailer really dropped the ball. Screwing up the order was one thing, taking another week before shipping the replacement Is too much.
My old weight distribution system was undersized for my new camper, but otherwise everything was good. I contacted etrailer about sizing up just the trunion bars. They contacted Curt and confirmed that was possible, then added this part to the catalog, all within 36 hours of my e-mailing my request. The parts arrived in great shape and I'm anxious to try them out.

Well, while the product was what I requested, it did not fix my slight sway issue. Ive since upgraded my tow vehicle and hitch system with a weight distribution hitch with built-in dual anti-sway control.
Product came as promised and as a replacement part it fit perfectly.
what i was looking for, price was right
Needed an upgrade from my 550 Trunnion springs to 1000 lbs. perfect fit. At half the price of local dealers. Others wanted to sell me an entire new towing system for four times the amount. Thanks for a a name brand product (Curt) at a great price.
