Question:

I have a 2022 ram 2500 long bed diesel, and a fifth wheel camper gvwr 15k lbs. I’m leaning towards the curt a25 hitch, but curious on what might be recommended along with if any suspension upgrades might also be recommended.

Hey Eric. Does your 2022 Ram 2500 have the factory puck system? If so I recommend the B&W Companion item # BWRVK3600 over the Curt A25 item # C16046.

The B&W Companion item # BWRVK3600 has thicker jaws that surround your 5th wheel trailer's kingpin better so the connection point is safer and more reliable. The Companion is also easier to connect on uneven ground. B&W also makes their hitches here in the USA.

As far as suspension upgrades go, a set of air bags is going to offer you the most support during towing, while also not affecting your daily driving.

The Firestone Ride-Rite item # F2598, you were looking at, are going to be the best option. These are 5,000 lbs capacity air bags that will keep your Ram's rear end level while you are towing your trailer or carrying a heavy load in your bed. All brackets and necessary hardware needed for installation are included.

I prefer Firestone Air Bags like item # F2598 over Air Lifts like item # AL88289 because of how the rubber bag is incorporated into the top and bottom metal brackets when constructed. This is a far more reliable construction method that doesn't require jounces to prevent the bracket's breaking like Air Lifts.

I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.

Does your Ram have the factory puck system? If not I'll be happy to make a new hitch recommendation. I also would need to know if your truck has 5th wheel rails or a gooseneck hitch.
