Question:
Hello, I want to buy the trailer wiring harness, but Im just a little confused/unsure about what to get. I have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Looking under the tailgate there appears to be an unused factory plug right behind the receptacle hole in the bumper. I dont know if I can use that or if I need a new wiring harness. I have a 4 pin plug on my trailer, and Id like to have it plug into a receptacle that has a flip up cover and pops it into the hole in the bumper. Thank you!

Hey Chris, thanks for reaching out. We do have a wiring harness for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma, but I am not seeing we have anything for designed to hook up to a factory connector. Is this plug a standard USCAR connector? Or something different?
All of the custom harnesses we offer for the 2016 Tacoma are t-Connectors. For that I recommend the following:
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118685
I also suggest using a bracket part # 18144 for a nice secure mounting location.

Hey Chris, did you get a chance to check whether that factory plug on your Tacoma is a USCAR connector? Once you know that, it’ll be easier to tell if the T-One harness and bracket setup will work for you. Let me know what you find—I’m here if you need a hand narrowing it down.
