Question:
Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 4,400-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10inch Diameter - 6 on 5-1/2 I am replacing Dayton style hubs on and old trailer that would use this hub because the bearings are the same. Currently the brakes are a 12x2.25in drum with a 5 bolt backing plate. Question: Is there a 10in backing plat that is 5 bolt mounting or can I get this hub in a 12in drum Thanks

Hey Liam. All of our 10" brake assemblies like item # 23-454-455 have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange. The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # 8-407-5UC3-EZ you were looking at is not available in a 12" drum. We do not have a 12" braking hub that fits your spindle.
The only option I would have for you is to replace the brake flange on your axle with the item # 4-50 for 3-1/2" diameter axles or item # DM52415 for 3" diameter axles.
If you were able to do this you could use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes item # 23-454-455 and the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly item # 8-407-5UC3-EZ you said fit your spindles.
What diameter is your axle and are you able to identify the manufacturer? I know you said it was an older trailer but didn't know if there was still any branding on it?
You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Liam, were you able to check your axle diameter or find any markings from the manufacturer? Once you have that info, it’ll be easier to confirm if the new brake flange and 10-inch hub setup will work for your trailer. Let me know what you find—I’m happy to help narrow it down.
