Which Bike Rack Gives More Clearance on a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica? The Thule ReVert or T2 Pro XTR?

Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/02/2025

Question:

Hi, I just installed a Curt class 3 hitch on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan with the intent of getting a 4-5 bike rack carrier. Im torn between the Thule Revert vertical rack and the Thule T2 Pro XTR with 2 add-on bundle tray rack. I know theres pros/cons in actual capacity and loading, but what about road clearance? Am I more likely to bottom out with 4 bikes loaded on a back tray vs vertically? Ill be loading 29-inch MTBs. No ebikes or fat tires. Thanks!

Hey Jill. The Thule ReVert Vertical Bike Rack for 6 Bikes item # TH83VA is going to give you better clearance than the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes item # TH69TX. However, you can't use the Thule ReVert item # TH83VA with your Curt Hitch item # C65CR.

Due to the downward weight placed on the receiver, the Thule ReVert item # TH83VA requires a hitch with a minimum 500 lbs tongue weight capacity. The Curt Hitch item # C65CR, you installed on your 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, only has a 400 lbs tongue weight capacity. The 500 lbs minimum tongue weight requirement applies to the rest of our vertical bike racks as well.

You'll need to go with the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes item # TH69TX.

Hey Jill, how did things turn out with the Thule T2 Pro XTR on your Pacifica? Did the ground clearance work out okay when carrying your 29-inch mountain bikes? Your feedback could really help others choosing between these rack styles.
