DoesDraw-Tite Hitch Installation on 2021 Pacifica Require Underbody Panel Reinstallation

Question:
I have a 2021 Pacifica Pinnacle trim. In the directions it says 2020 and above return the underbody panel to the owner. Should I assume in my 2021 that the underbody panel is not being used once the hitch is installed?

Hi Brandon; that is correct. Since you have a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica you will not need to trim or reinstall the underbody panel when installing the # 76046. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica, and had a Draw-Tite Model CQT76046 installed. I had it professionally installed, and assumed they would trim and reinstall the underbody panel. They said they would not feel comfortable doing that due to the kick-sensor and the possibility of the movement of the paneling causing an inadvertent rear door opening. They said that the underbody paneling was not providing any real benefit anyway. With that being said, I have seen where some people suggest leaving it off completely, others have made very small trimmed areas that allow the paneling to be reattached without losing any or very few attachments. My question is, should I trim it myself and reapply or just leave it off?

Hi Robin, I actually was able to install it rather easily without trimming the built in heat shield and doing the normal trimming mention in the installation guide. Every nut and bolt lined up and fit relatively well. Not sure if that changes the directions but it worked for me. Thanks for the reply!
