Is There Taller Version of B and W Gooseneck Hitch Ball BWGNXA2061
Updated 12/01/2025 | Published 11/11/2025 >
Question:
I bought BWGNXA2061 BandW Ball and Safety Chain Kit for Ford, GM, Chevy, and Nissan Titan XD Underbed Gooseneck Hitch for my Chevy 3500 long bed. 5th wheel has a GenY hitch. I have exactly 6 inches clearance between tailgate and bottom of 5th wheel nose. Does BandW make an extended height goose neck ball? I’ve seen it for the turnover ball but not puck system bed mount ball. I’d feel more comfortable if I can get more clearance without adjusting the GenY as I think that would raise it too much. Right now the trailer is pretty level when hooked up. Thank you, Gene

Hey Gene, B and W does not have a taller version of the # BWGNXA2061 that you have now if that is what you are asking about. Normally 6 inches is adequate clearance between the truck tailgate/bed rails and the overhang of your trailer so unless you will be on really hilly terrain with a lot of elevation changes you should be fine. Otherwise you'd have to look into raising the trailer suspension and the nose of your trailer by adjusting the coupler height.

Hey Gene, how did things work out with the B&W gooseneck ball and your GenY hitch setup on the Chevy 3500? Did the 6 inches of clearance end up giving you enough room when towing? Your update could make it easier for others working with a similar setup.
