Will Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights Work On RV

Updated 12/01/2025 | Published 11/10/2025

Question:

I want to install these vertically on the outer corners on the back of an RV. So I need a spread of almost 8 feet. The dimension picture shows 22inch from the light to the quick connect but does show a dimension from the quick connect to the wye. Can they be spread 8foot feet apart? Or are the yellow/blue quick connects something standard such that an extension piece could be added?

Hi Steve; the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201 won't be able to spread out that far. You only have 15" on the wire with the lights since the lights are 7" of that 22" length. Then the main wiring harness doesn't split until it is close to the end with the blue and yellow connectors.

You might be able to make some kind of extension if you picked up those connectors and some wiring at a local hardware or electrical supply store. You could also splice in extra wire behind the connectors so you can extend it but still disconnect if needed without having to track down connectors that match.

Hey Steve, how did your setup go with the Curt auxiliary LED lights on the back of your RV? Were you able to extend the wiring enough to get the 8-foot spread you needed? Your update could make it easier for others trying a similar layout.
