Best Flat Tow Package For 2019 GMC Canyon

I have a 2019 GMC Canyon and a Class A diesel pusher. My DP is rated to pull the Canyon. Can you put together a package of what i need for a Roadmaster tow package including the base plate, lights, brake and battery charge. I think i am supposed to disconnect my battery when towing according to GMC. Can you create a package for me?

Hello Andy! Yes, I would be happy to put together a flat tow package for your 2019 GMC Canyon. Here is what I recommend:
- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-523182-5

- Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152
- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Only # RM-766
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Wireless Monitor - Proportional # DM86VR
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
That will cover all the main components. Keep in mind the Roadmaster base plate will only fit vehicles without adaptive cruise control. You are correct about disconnecting the battery. The disconnect I mentioned above is for gas engine vehicles only. Diesel engines need part # RM93MR instead. You will need one disconnect for each starter battery.
You may end up needing a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV. Any difference of more than 3" requires a drop hitch. If the drop hitch is used, cable extensions # RM-910648-10 will be required.
I also recommend getting a cover # RM-055-3 and a hitch lock # e98881 to protect your tow bar.
As with any flat tow setup, please check your owners manual and make sure you follow all the steps in the recreational towing section.
