I am interested in setting up my 2010 Mini Cooper S for flat tow behind my RV. Also would need to add hitch to Mini for bike rack. Thx Dan

Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out!
I'll start off with the hitch since flat towing parts are a longer list. For the hitch you need the EcoHitch # EH47FR as it's the only one that fits the 2010 Mini Cooper S Series. If you don't already have a bike rack then I recommend checking out the Yakima HoldUp # Y02445.
Now for the flat towing parts:
- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1307
- Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-677
- Pollak 6-Pole Round Pin Socket # PK11608
- Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
- Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751440
- Roadmaster Universal Magnetic Tow Lights # RM-2120
- Curt RVi Series Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System # RVI94FR
- High-Low Adapter (see attached article - bracket height is 13-1/2")
This combination of parts gives you seamless yet functional. The Blue Ox base plate kit and Nighthawk All-Terrain tow bar are nicer and easier to use, while the magnetic tow lights seem a little more cumbersome, but they keep you from having to drill into your tail lights.
I also really like the Curt RVi brake system because it stays installed on your Mini, but it's out of the way when you don't need it.

Hey Dan, how did everything go getting your Mini Cooper S set up with the EcoHitch and flat tow gear? I'm curious how the Curt RVi brake system worked out for you on the road. Your experience could really help others planning a similar setup.
