Will your baseplate part 98969 require any modifications to the steel bumper on my two wheel drive 2008 f150 stx ?

Hey David, thanks for the information. The etrailer item # e98969 doesn't work with the STX model of the 2008 Ford F-150. The only option that does is the Blue Ox item # BX2169. It replaces the tow hooks, if you have them, and does not require modification of the bumper. I've linked the installation instructions below so you can see the process.
Here are the rest of the parts you'll need to flat tow your 2008 Ford F-150 STX:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates item # e47ZR
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking System - Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System item # HM39494
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
What kind of motorhome do you have?
