This classic setup uses fixed draw bars that bolt securely to the chassis, keeping the connection steady mile after mile. The steel build spreads towing forces evenly to help minimize stress on the suspension. Even without a crossbar, the hidden reinforcement keeps everything sturdy so you can rely on it during long hauls.
When you’re not towing, the small, visible tabs stay low-profile and tidy. The included tab covers snap right on to keep out dirt and debris while protecting your shins from bumps. The result is a clean look with no bulky brackets or crossbars sticking out from the front end.
This kit is built for people who like to get things done themselves. It bolts directly to the vehicle’s chassis, so there’s no welding required. All instructions and hardware come in the box, making it a straightforward bolt-on project you can handle over a weekend with standard tools.
You don’t have to start from scratch if you already have a tow bar you like. This base plate works with all Demco tow bars and can be adapted for use with other manufacturers using the correct adapter (sold separately). The distance between brackets is 24", so you can plan your tow setup confidently. An electrical bracket is included to mount a round connector plug for neat and easy wiring hookups.

These were a perfect fit for my 2026 Sierra 2500HD. The instructions are in desperate need of being updated. I was able to complete the installation without removing the grill and bumper. All that was required was the removal of the tow hook and enlarging the facia hole to accommodate the baseplate.

Great service - ordered Sunday night, delivered Wednesday lunch time, installed Wednesday afternoon. Excellent information, instructions - took about 4 hours, had to file 2 bolt holes a slight bit, but the fit was very good.
I am very happy with the baseplate and would recommend it to anyone.

This is the second time we've ordered these kits. They work very well for our needs, staff is very helpful and responsive, and shipping is fast.
Received on time and installed as directed. I'm 78 and only had one problem, that of having to bend down a tab on the vehicle frame. Had to go buy a punch. However, the left base plate front holes for the tow bar attaching pin was not in alignment. The pin would not go through. Contacted etrailer and received a replacement in no time. Removed the bad one and reinstalled the new one. Then took the vehicle to my hitch guy for brake wiring. He double checked my work and said everything was in great order and a good fit. With the virus lockdown, I have not towed other than home from getting the brakes set up. But that worked ok.
Just sold the Tracker that the base plate was installed on but it had several thousand miles of towing on it with no problems . Installation was not too difficult , and it hardly showed . Seems a bit expensive for what it is , but it is custom made so I get it . Very heavy duty steel with the bonus of it actually reinforces the front end of the Tracker .
They fit our 2007 Hummer H-3 perfectly. Very easy to install and appear to be well built. We have only used them for a test pull and they worked perfectly.
The kit was easy to install. Quality control could be better. I wasted time trying to get the frame mounts fitted, because they had them labelled backwards. Some of the nuts they supplied were the wrong thread. It has a real good thick paint job. But that tends to make things hard to put together. I had to sand down the Falcon adapters. I also had to modify the fog light spoiler, but that was a given as it is a rare option. All in all, it looks good and works fine.

Looks to be very well built. Should work perfect for towing my YJ behind my Newmar with a Demco Dominator tow bar.
I usually don't take the time to write reviews. However, Vanessa was such a great help I felt others should know about her commitment to customer service. I was looking for a tow bar system to pull a 1978 Jeep CJ7 behind my motorhome. We talked threw all the options for my purchase and came up with the tow package that was the best fit for my needs. I will be installing the system next week.
Nice and heavy quality construction. Paint finish not so much, several areas on both pieces the paint is/has chipped off exposing bare metal. Came direct out of the package like that. Will require all the paint to come off and I will need to re-spray a new finish. Was disappointed for $xxx that they need to be repainted right out of the box.

As Expected
Apparently zero quality control. The parts don’t fit as shipped bc the bolts are too long and hit the frame. The parts also are not able to accept the tow bar assembly bc the clearance is too small. These should easily fit into the baseplate and they can’t even be forced into place. Replacement parts not available for 2 weeks. Maybe I should have ordered Blue Ox vs this etrailer made tow bar and base plate configuration. Two weeks is not acceptable for replacement parts in 2026. It’s not 1970 with only USPS. Support online to get the correct kit was fantastic. Shipping was fast and damage free. Poor quality control is not acceptable in any business.

I am very sorry to hear this Rick, very frustrating to order something, try to install, and have it not work. I reached out to Demco with your review, and this is what they had to say: "A couple of things here. 1.) Bolts hitting the frame: The 9518112 is a baseplate designed for 1996 and prior Jeep and Jeep CJ with the factory bumper. That appears to be an aftermarket bumper that the 9518112 was not designed for. Had someone phoned, we could have advised a different baseplate. 2.) Fitment: The pieces are powder coated with paint. On rare occasions, there is too much paint on the clevis. Had someone phoned, we would have advised taking some fine grit sandpaper and lightly sand on both sides of the clevis, and it would fit right into the baseplate."

Poor paint quality. Paint was chipping off down to the metal even before I got them out of the box. Like everything else anymore, over priced and lacking quality.
