Question:
Will this hitch work in the rise position if I need to flip it for a taller truck or trailer? 2" receiver on my lifted truck.

That’s a great question, Cheryl. The Weigh Safe pintle hitch can technically be flipped into the rise position, but the pintle attachment itself may only be used in the drop position. Using the pintle in the rise orientation would void the manufacturer’s warranty because it changes how the scale and latch assembly bear weight.
If you’re towing with the hitch balls, you can safely use it in either drop or rise, depending on what your setup needs. But whenever the pintle attachment is installed, it must stay in the drop position only.
If you need extra height, you might consider running it in the rise position for your standard coupler trailers and switching back to drop mode when you’re towing with a lunette ring. What kind of trailer are you using that needs the rise - a camper, dump trailer, or something else?
We have the Weigh Safe 2" versions available in both sizes:
# WS82ER - 6" Drop, 15K rating (2" & 2-5/16" balls + pintle)
# WS59WR - 8" Drop, 15K rating (2" & 2-5/16" balls + pintle)

Yes the hitch can be used in raised as well as lowered per weigh safe FAQs on their website. Bellow is copied from their website. CAN THE WEIGH SAFE/ 180 HITCHES BE USED IN THE RISE POSITION AS WELL AS THE DROP? Yes! All our ball mounts can be used in the drop position and inverted to be used in the rise position. Please note that in the rise position, all draw bars gain 1” (the 4” drop is 5” in the rise position and so on).
