Hey John, thanks for reaching out. Honestly, the Gen-Y Offset Gooseneck Balls like part # GY83XR can be a bit snug when they first get installed, but if it's really giving you trouble, it could be an installation/assembly issue.
If the locking handles aren't aligned correctly, it can make it way harder to get out of the pucks. What you can do is slightly loosen the center nuts, position the handles correctly, and then retighten the center nuts securely.
It might be worth checking your pucks to see if they are dirty, because that can sometimes make puck accessories harder to remove and install.
That said, I've linked a video for you below. If you fast forward to around the 2:10 mark you can see Matt remove, then reinstall the offset ball. Basically, all you do it turn the handles on each end, pull the center pin, turn the ring and it should lift right out of the pucks. It helps to lift straight up on the whole assembly all at once.
Give all that a try and let me know how it goes.
What kind of trailer do you haul?

I have a 2024 Ram 3500 with the Gen Y generation 1 offset ball. The installation was a breeze, but it has been a real challenge to get it out of the truck bed. I'm thinking I am going to try some penetrating oil and then try it.
