Does Frame of 2025 Jeep Wrangler Have to be Trimmed to Install Blue Ox Base Plate

Published 09/24/2025

Question:

Hello, was installing my tow bar system today and had a question. When installing the nuts with the wire welded on them , all of your videos and others I have seen show having to get a grinder or Dremel and cutting a part of the front frame bumper brackets out for the nuts to fit. I looked at the nuts and wondered why does that need to be done to a brand new 2025 jeep??? so after looking at the nut a bit longer, I took my grinder with a flap disc and ground down some of the not, pictures attached, and guess what it worked perfect. Just though you guys may want to update your videos to do this, or better yet when the rods are welded to the nuts grind them down ahead of time for the end user so they dont need to worry about them.

Hey Richard, that is a pretty cool idea you came up with! I would agree that is a simpler and better way than what the instructions detail. Thank you for sharing that with us!

Yes I think so and kinda proud of it, had a hard time thinking about using a grinder on a 2025 jeep that has less then a 500 KM on it.... this way no cutting and still looks stock, even though it is cover up by the bumper once reinstalled
