Question:
I need a class III hitch for my 2006 Toyota Highlander hybrid. Your website lists the Curt in both hybrid and non-hybrid, however the item number is the same and when clicking on hybrid, it shows non-hybrid. I would also need a custom wire harness and a 7 pin RV socket. A brake controller would be nice but I have a Curt Bluetooth controller

Hey Kerry. The Curt Hitch item # 13530 fits both the hybrid and non-hybrid models of the 2006 Toyota Highlander. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver, that is custom fit, and comes with all hardware necessary for installation.
To add a 7-way connector to your Highlander you'll first need to add a 4-way connector, unless you already have one. There's no way to just add a 7-way connector. There's also no custom fit harnesses unless you have the factory tow package. Here are the parts you'll need:
4-Way Wiring Harness - Curt Powered Tail Light Converter item # C59236
7-Way Wiring Harness - Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller item # ETBC7 or item # ETBC7L if you decide to use your Curt Echo item # C51180. The Bluetooth controller does not require the blue brake controller wire ran to the cab. The item # ETBC7L does not include that wire.
I recommend sticking with your Curt Echo item # C51180 but if you want a traditional controller the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness item # RED52VR is going to be the best option. This is a proportional brake controller that activates your trailer's brakes when your Toyota decelerates.
The reason the Tow-Pro Liberty is the best option is because of its unique installation method where the only visible portion is the control knob that's about the size of a nickel. The main unit is hidden away inside your dash to be completely out of the way and out of sight. The included universal wiring harness is all you'll need to complete the installation.
To round out your towing setup, I also recommend the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball item # e67DR. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball, with a 7,500 lbs capacity, and a fixed ball mount with a 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip.
What kind of trailer are you pulling and do you have the factory tow package?

Thanks! I ordered the Curt hitch. My Highlander does not have the factory tow package. I have a 1962 vintage Airstream Bambi which weighs 1850 lbs and will take your advice on using the Curt Echo. Thanks again Kerry
