Question:

I have been reading a lot about the 2025 Equinox - we have purchased Curt 56427 4-way flat output wiring harness, which is the one that was recommended by our local Canadian Tire Auto Dept. The harness connects, however it does not run the lights or signals. Has anyone come out with a wiring harness for the Equinox that saves us from being forced to purchase from GM - they are making people purchase the hitch and harness together-very highly priced. Very frustrating!

Hey Carole. If you installed the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C44FR and it's still not working then you don't have the factory tow package in your 2025 Equinox and need the relays.

Curt had one for awhile it was the FF-25EquinoxWiring Curt T-Connector. I don't see it anymore so you may have to go through GM. Another alternative is to tap into your taillight wiring using the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness item # 119250KIT. This uses clamps that sense the signals from the taillights and sends the corresponding functions to the 4-way connector.

What kind of trailer do you have?

We have a utility trailer and tow our boat a short distance in and out of the water and in for servicing at the end of the season. We were at our GM Dealership yesterday and found out that they need to get a computer program for our vehicle from GM at a cost on approximately $150.00 and then have their technician upload the program to our Equinox. We are hoping that once they upload and liven up this program that we will still be able to use the Curt wiring harness that we purchased. I will certainly let you know. We are just waiting for a callback from the dealership as to when we can take the vehicle in to have this done. Thanks for your response and I will let you know the results. Carole

@JerredH Good morning, we have an appointment this morning at our Dealership to install the towing computer program, keeping our fingers crossed that it works and lets us connect the Curt harness we had purchased. I will let you know the results. Thanks.
