Will Blue Ox Base Plate Kit Fit 2026 Ram 1500 Tungsten

Updated 09/30/2025 | Published 09/01/2025

Question:

For a previous question, you recommended the Blue Ox BLU26HR for a 2025 RAM 1500 Tungsten. My understanding is the bumper would need to be removed to do this install. On the 2026 model, the bumper is integrated see attached picture and does not appear to be removeable. Is it possible to install this bar without removing the bumper? Do you have a video of the process on this vehicle? Is there any option or do I need to go with a RAM 1500 Limited instead?

Hey Kim! I see what you're saying but the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU26HR will fit the 2026 Ram 1500 Tungsten. It looks integrated but the fascia can still come off. The process is a little more extensive but doable. It is not possible to install the base plate kit without removing the bumper.

Since we haven't had a Tungsten in for installation we don't have a video but I did attach some pictures from the instructions below. You will see the front matches what you sent me (I can't post the picture you sent since it is from a dealer) and then you can see where the front fascia was removed. One way or another you can definitely get the 2026 Ram 1500 Tungsten and flat tow it behind your motorhome.

Hey Kim, did you decide to go with the 2026 Ram 1500 Tungsten and try out the installation process for the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others considering a similar setup.
