Thanks for your question, John!

Wish I had an easy and quick answer for you but I'll need a bit more information to get you the right spring. I searched your trailer and there isn't any information out there IDing the length and capacity of the spring you are needing for your 1969 Shasta. Below you will find some links for both double eye springs and slipper springs. Most modern trailers use double eye springs, It's unknown if your trailer had double eye or slipper springs so I wanted to include both help articles. There are also some pictures illustrating the measurements of the springs.

The best way to measure the spring would be to jack up one side so that the axle is free hanging to get its length. Getting the length and the axle capacity would be the most important information to get to be able to find the right spring.

Let me know in a comment when you can and I can track down the right spring for you!

Thank you, Gwendolyn, for the quick response! Jeepers, I got busy with other things, went camping, and need to send you the measurement for the double eye springs on the trailer! I hope to do that soon! thanks again, John

@GwendolynY Dear Gwendolyn, The double eye spring measures 26 and 3/8" from each center of double eyes. The back "eye" is supported by a hangar that drops from an eye welded to the trailer frame so I suppose a range lengths of double eye springs would work if 26 and 3/8" springs aren't available, i.e. 26 and a quarter", 26 and 1/2"... Also, the original springs have 5 companion leafs, if that's applicable. thank you, John

@JohnP Thanks for following up! We do have 26" springs, over time springs to tend to flatten out so going with 26" would be a good bet. I didn't see your axle rating so I went ahead and linked all the 26" springs we have. If none of those fit within your capacity let me know. The number of springs doesn't matter too much. If you have less leaves it will lower your trailer a little bit, and the more sprigs it will raise your trailer. The leaves are 3/8" thick so it wont be a dramatic change. One last thing to keep in mind, with fewer leaves, the suspension will feel a bit stiffer because it doesn’t flex as gradually when weight is added. The more leaves, the easier it is for each leaf to flex. Sorry for being wordy, just want to make sure I cover all the basis!
