Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this 4 Leaf Double Eye Spring for your 2000 pound trailer axle. Now this double eye leaf spring acts as part of your trailer suspension system by giving you an attachment point for a 2000 pound axle. It is made of sturdy steel and is designed to flex to absorb road shock and give you a smooth ride. It's gonna help reduce wear and tear on your trailer. This is going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces.

Now, double eye leaf springs attached to hangers that are welded onto your trailer. One end of the spring will attach directly to the hangar with the suspension bolt, and the other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. And those straps are going to allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. Now if you have a tandem or a triple axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs. In the eyes on each end here are pre-installed nylon bushings. The eye diameter with the bushing is 9/16", without the bushing, it's 11/16". So again, this is a four leaf spring with a leaf thickness of a quarter of an inch, and it has a spring capacity by itself of 1000 pounds. So when you combine it with another spring, that's where you're gonna get your 2000 pound capacity for that trailer axle. The length from center to spring to center of eye, is gonna be right at 26 inches.
