Features to know about

Keep Your Truck Level and Confident Under Heavy Loads: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Support

When you’re hauling a heavy trailer or bed load, the last thing you need is rear-end sag or light steering. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity between the frame and rear suspension. They keep your vehicle level when towing or carrying weight, helping your tires maintain even contact with the road for better braking and control. With the truck sitting level, headlight beams stay properly aimed and your suspension components stay protected from bottoming out.

Fine-Tune Your Ride for Any Load: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 to 100 psi

Every haul is different, so being able to adjust how firm your suspension feels makes a big difference. These double-convoluted air springs can be set anywhere between 5 psi and 100 psi. You can inflate both sides evenly for heavy straight-on loads or adjust side-to-side using the separate manual inflation valves when weight sits off center. Drop the pressure for a smoother unloaded ride, then air them up before hitching the trailer to keep things level and steady on the road.

Built Tough for Real Work: Heavy-Duty Rubber and Reinforced Metal Design

The Ride-Rite system uses four layers of reinforced rubber wrapped with a braided wire girdle for strength and durability under high pressure. Each air spring is anchored to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a rolled crimp seal that keeps everything locked tight. The double-convoluted shape adds flexibility and high burst resistance, giving you rugged performance whether you’re towing cross-country or hauling materials every day.

Smooth Out the Rough Stuff: Shock Absorbing Cushion Between Axle and Frame

Heavy loads can make every bump feel bigger. These air springs absorb road shock and cushion contact between the axle and frame to help prevent bottoming out. By softening those impacts, they keep your ride more comfortable while protecting your suspension from wear over time.

DIY Ready with Everything You Need: Complete Kit for Manual Inflation

Each Firestone Ride-Rite kit includes brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate valves for manual inflation. Once mounted between the frame and axle, you can route the airlines to your bumper for easy access when adding or releasing air. Optional switches, gauges, compressors, and tanks are available separately if you want in-cab adjustment later on.

I love my new airbags and they are super easy to install, I also am surprised at how fast they shipped the air bags, 10/10 would recommend

by:

Everything I ordered was shipped very quickly, arriving at my house in 3 days from when they were ordered. All parts were there, everthing installed and worked as advertised. I am very satified with the ordering, delivery and the products I purchased.

by:

They fit well and work as expected. I'm totally satisfied with these helper springs.

by:

My Firestone air bags were delivered across the nation as promised in 5 business days. This company obviously cares about Customer service...Oh and no shipping charges and the least expensive price I could find on the internet. My only issue is my wife...asking if I really need all these things for my new truck!! Thanks for the great service - I will definitley buy at etrailer first!

by:

Hello Carol I received my air bags quick very speedy as needed looks like a write fit I will know this weekend.
Thank you very much these are the real deal most other brands claim they are Firestone but they are not!!!

by:

Every order has been exactly as described with fast shipping and great customer service. I have ordered many parts for my truck camper set up and couldn't be happier with E-Trailer.

by:

Great experience received my air helper springs only 2 days after ordering which is unheard of these days then installed them the next day and did exactly what they are supposed to do I’m pulling a 31 foot enclosed trailer and truck was on the overload springs which made for a horrible ride but not anymore would recommend this product and etrailer

by:

Fit my 1999 Dodge 2500 perfectly, lifted my camper 3 inches with nice soft, stable ride, solved overloaded spring problem. Be careful inserting air lines into fittings...they don't easily release and we messed one up.

by:

I bought these for my 1996 f250. I have the b&w Gooseneck hitch. I was able to make them work with it. Small amount of fabrication but it does work and has worked well for a year now.

by:

I Purchased these airbags as replacement for my original Firestone airbags that were so old, they were then known as Airstroke Actuator Bags (a good 20 years old). These new Ride-Rite bags are made from a slightly softer and more pliable compound, and are comparable to the bags on Semi-Trucks, but smaller. The ride is greatly improved, and I also like that these bags were a super easy swap from my old bags - same exact hardware.

The original bags were about an hour and a half setup with drilling the frame. To swap out the old bags with the new was about 45 minutes.

Overall, I am VERY satisfied with this purchase. Thanks again to the ETrailer Crew for getting my shipment expedited so I was able to get the new bags on before my next trailer towing trip.

by:

Absolutely great product. Haul trailers quite often with heavy loads and these air bags did the trick in helping firm the truck up a bit and handle the extra weight. Fairly easy to install also as it took 2 of us about 2 hours or so. I would recommend to anyone needing similar assistance for their truck.

by:

I have bought several products from you in the last year. The last product was missing parts.when I called to let you know about it the people I talked to were helpful and nice. I haven't received the missing parts yet. I would have thought you would have expedited the shipment to get it here since my truck is sitting up in the air waiting for those parts. 2nd thing is anytime I talk to someone from tech support I get the feeling that I'm talking to the person that hasn't had anything to do with the design or installation of the product.

I am showing the parts have now been delivered to you. Customer Service will be touch to check. We do want to make certain that you have everything that you need.

by:

I’m 67 years old and with the help of my very capable son the bags were on in about 3 hours. I pulled off the wheel wells and trimmed them to clear the bags using the instructions as a guide, only using curves instead of corners (2001 Dodge Ram). Following the instructions was simple and understandable, no surprises. Used a cobalt bit on the frame with a spacer washer due to the slight slant. Cut the long bolts to fit just the top leaf because of the lack of space between the bolt and mainspring. Mounted the air valves on the hitch with the supplied mount and ziplocks.
This is the second time I’ve purchased from etrailer, I bought torklift tie downs several months ago and they arrived with a major part missing. I was on a very tight time frame and after calling customer service they overnighted a new package and amazingly my schedule was met! I will certainly be using them in future purchases.

by:

False information about vehicle fitment. I used the vehicle fitment tool to ensure that this would fit my truck and it shows that it fits. I purchased the kit and it doesn’t fit. When I questioned the fitment I was told that it doesn’t fit my truck and that I would be charged xx dollars to return the product to cover shipping and that they understand how it could be deceiving the way it shows it fits my truck when they are aware it doesn’t and that there was nothing they could do about it other than charge me return shipping. I was super excited to use these on my truck and now I’m super frustrated with a company that I feel is deceitful and has no intention of trying to not continue that in the future. I know that this is the last product I will ever purchase from e trailer. I’ll go somewhere that is honest instead.

I can see how it could be confusing. However, I do see that this is a confirmed fit for the 1969 Chevrolet CK Series Pickup. but only the C30 Pickup. If you dont have the C30, then thats probably where you got confused.

by:

Product was exactly as described and while an installation on a 40+ year old truck was somewhat interesting, the instructions were informative enough to allow me to make minor adjustments and create a good fit. One of the Schraeder valves was defective but Firestone replaced it.

Great product and service

by:

Kit is complete. Instructions are good, but you need to read them threw a couple of times for your application. Installation went well and done in a couple of hours. All parts are great quality!!! Will be installing more kits in the future.

by:

Thanks for everything arrived on time as stated. Would recommend eTrailer to anyone needing a part for their rig.

by:

First off, I was surprised at how soon it arrived. I was also impressed that it truely was a Firestone product, through and through. I have not installed it yet, but all of the items, brackets, hardware, tubing seem first rate. The brackets were heavier duty than what I was expecting. The air bags are smaller versions of what is used on semi-truck and trailers. (I'm a retired fleet mechanic.) I'm excited to begin installing in the morning!

In my application, they have improved the ride by making it feel firm and stable. Also, they are relieving some of the added stress to the rear suspension from the loads I carry. Very pleased with the product.

by:

Easy of purchase process. Shipped and received quickly. Package was sturdy. Two thing, did not come with installation instructions and, only had one flange bolt to attach air bag to the lower bracket. Contacted etrailer, emailed instructions promptly. Pick up new bolts at hardware store.

by:

Fast shipping, all parts arrived in good condition, easy installation on 1st gen Cummins, time will tell how well the ride-right air helper springs hold up.

by:

Kit has been working great on my 95 ram 2500. Truck is always loaded with a miller bobcat welder, air compressor, cutting torch setup, and job box. Keeps the truck level and ride is very smooth, would highly recommend.

by:

All went well with the installation. Parts look stout nothing missing so we are good

Hey Patrick! Thanks for the pictures and all the information! I checked with Air Lift and their LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs item # AL57298 are only compatible with the Reese gooseneck hitch because of how the brackets install on the frame. They're vertical brackets instead of the horizontal ones the Curt Gooseneck Hitch item # C60723-5W has. Our website wasn't as clear on this as it should've been on in bed hitches. The instructions mention that as a general rule of thumb, 1 psi will support approximately 40 lbs of load. Your best bet is to use enough pressure to level the vehicle, and then adjust plus or minus according to your personal preference. You can do this with the 5th wheel in place, and for the unloaded scenario. Keep in mind that using an air bag suspension...

Keep in mind this kit is not compatible if you have an in-bed 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch. With Firestone Ride Rite kits like the part # F2071 the absolute minimum psi you will need to run is 5 psi. This prevents the bags from getting damaged. The severity of that difference depends on a lot of different factors, but I've mostly seen complaints from smaller trucks and SUV's which have softer suspensions.
