Which Tonneau Cover Works With Elevate Rails And Rack On 2024 Ford Ranger?

Updated 09/16/2025 | Published 08/25/2025

Question:

What tonneau do you recommend that will work with Elevate rails. I tried a Pro X15 and the combination of the two rails made the inside dimension tonneau to narrow for the tonneau cover to fit inside the rails as required.

Hey Jim, the TS Rails for TruXedo Elevate Rack System # TH85FR fits your 2024 Ford Ranger and allows you to install the Truxedo Elevate Rack when paired with one of the following tonneau covers:
BAK: G2, MX4, Revolver X2, and Revolver X4
Extang: Encore and Exceed
Retrax: One XR with T-slot and Pro with T-slot
Truxedo: Lo Pro, Pro X15, Sentry, and Sentry CT

You said you've already tried the PRO X15, which should be compatible. It's strange that you're having trouble as we've confirmed fitment quite a few times with Truxedo in regards to this exact setup.

Were you not able to use it at all, or was it just rubbing a bit and too close for comfort?

Another available cover that will work is the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK33AV, but I'm not sure if you'll have any better luck than with the Truxedo Prox15. It'll likely be a tight fit regardless, unless you go with something with the rails built into the tonneau cover, which we don't have at this time.

I had the x15 rails installed with the Elevate rails. When I went to mount the X15 cover there was not enough space for the rungs of the tonneau to fit in the side rails. The addition of the Elevate rails with the X15 rails had moved the X15 rails into the box and prevented the tonneau forward rung from fitting as needed. Only after removing the Elevate rails did the X15 fit in place. The exact fit design of the X15 did not allow for any variation inward.

@JimP That is strange. I just forwarded this over to Truxedo so hopefully they get back to me shortly. I will update you soon. Sorry about the trouble you're having.

Yes a hard fold will fit with both rails installed. I know this because I had this arrangement on my 2023 Ranger. The hard cover sides rest on top of the rails. The x15 type of cover has to fit inside the rails. So any cover that has to fit inside the rails will not work with two rail systems installed. I purchased the elevate system so I could move it to my next truck to be cost effective. The hard cover seals, at the joints, eventually leak so I do not want a hard fold. Also the cost of putting a hard cover on a truck that is leased for three years gets expensive. If you keep your trucks for a long term you get the value out of the purchase. The soft roll up or soft fold are a better value and are not prone to leaking. Yes the hard covers are more secure but only to degree. I hope this explains my situation and that’s for your reply’s and advice.

@JimP Ok that makes sense. They never got back to me, but you can install a soft rollup or soft folding cover that mounts on the bed rails (not inside the rails) and you will be fine. I'd look at the Leer Latitude Soft Tonneau Cover - Folding - Vinyl and Aluminum # LE59MR or Leer Soft Tonneau Cover - Roll Up - Vinyl and Aluminum # LE97MR.

@AndrewN https://1drv.ms/i/c/99765c449e468363/ESHY65eSd7lAnbLbtm-0pVEBJT0mpNY72bxs8CPIafGCfQ Please put above link into internet search. What I am trying to explain is that the hard bar of tonneau cover, front and rear, as in the photo, is a specific length that fits into, the inside of the side rail. If you move the tonneau side rail inwards, by adding the elevate rails, the distance between the tonneau rails is reduced and front and rear bar of the tonneau cover, ref. photo, does not have enough space to fit inside the side rails. @JimP I see what you're saying Jim, thanks for the picture. Do you think you will use a soft roll up or soft folding such as the ones I mentioned above? I don't see any compatibility issues with something like that.
