Solution for Needing Replacement Lower Section of Ladder on RV

Updated 08/26/2025 | Published 08/22/2025

Question:

I have a broken lower section 6 steps which hangs on 2nd step of the upper section of a Christianson Industries, lower ladder 2255-40, which is no longer available. What are your suggestions for replacing it? Is there anything else you need? I can send a photo showing it broken on the right side just below the its 2nd step down where a brace to the back of my RV was. Repairing it?

Hey Marshall, most likely only solution will be an all new ladder but if the dimensions match the # SU77VR it would work which would be awesome. This has an overall length of 36" with the two 7/8" inserts spaced 11" on center. The 7/8" is the outer diameter of the pipe that will insert into the upper section of the ladder that you have now.

The lower section has 6 STEPS or ~72" lower section (vs. your 36") with curve from bottom to connecting plate against the back of the RV. and the top is a 2 square 'j' brackets that narrower than the rest of the ladder which has about ~ 12 1/2" outside width and ~ 10 1/8" inside width. Is there something else?

@MarshallC The part number you mentioned is the only ladder section replacement we offer. All we can help with would be an all new ladder.
