Question:
trying to figure out grease seals for an axle spindle. the seal surface of the spindle measures 1.638 and the hub bore measures 2.565 the seal is .500 tall. all looks like a standard 3500 axle seal but I am stumped with the small seal surface dimension. there are no markings or numbers on the old seals to reference as well they are torn up badly. any help appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Jeff, thanks for the information. It sounds like you need the Double Lip Seal for 3,700-lb Marine Hubs item # 168255TB. It fits a inner diameter of 1.687" and an outer diameter of 2.561".
What kind of trailer do you have?

Thank you Jerred for the seal information. the Trailer is a custom made 9 yr old but new to me non marine application trailer, possible the axles were taken from some other source? it features 1 1/16 outer bearings and 1 3/8 inner bearings leading me to believe a 3500# axle and its standard sizes. it would seem to me the seal you mentioned having an ID of 1.687 might still be too large to seal a 1.638 shaft. is it possible there are wear sleeves missing on all 4 spindles?, not sure how those are sized ID/OD. another rabbit hole... Thanks Jeff
