Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the stainless steel drive-in grease cap with the removable plug for 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound EZ Lube or EZ Grease axles. Now, this grease cap will fit the DeeMaxx and most other 5,200 pound to 6,000 pound hubs that have a two and a half inch inner diameter. The cap itself is a stainless steel construction to prevent rust, so it's great for marine environments. And this removable silicone plug right here, this will let you access the grease zerk fitting on the spindle of your EZ Lube or etrailer EZ Grease axle to give you a nice, fast, simple lubrication.
Basically, when you remove that plug, that'll let you get access to that zerk fitting that you're gonna attach your grease gun to, pump the grease in. Once you get it all filled, then you just remove your grease gun, take your removable plug here and pop it right in there, just like that. And now you're ready to go. Saves you having to take your whole hub out to grease your bearings. This way, you can just grease them through that EZ Lube or EZ Grease axle.
Specs on this. This is one grease cap with the plug. It is a drive-in installation. Outer diameter on this is 2.45 inches, so it's designed to drive in to a two and a half inch size diameter hub. Overall height on this is one and a half inches.

They don't seem to fit in my normal Dexter hub 6 on. Not certain if I order the wrong part but it seems to be the right one. They're all so very soft because they're stainless so have to be very careful putting them in
I was very disappointed in these . Rusted right away. Magnet sticks well to it. Don’t know how they get away with calling it stainless.

A year later and the grease caps are in perfect condition, never fell out despite several thousand miles of use and still look like new.

Awful product. Stainless it is not. Already rusty. Looks nothing like pictures. Scam. Do not buy from these people. Product wasn’t even in a package.

The grease caps are made of stainless steel however it is kind of a myth that stainless steel will never rust. If it is exposed to corrosive fluids, cleaners, high humidity or sea water can cause it to corrode.
Ordered 15 Dust Caps 2/ rubber plug, all different sizes. I had 15 Dust Caps and plugs, thrown in 1 box. Not one is labeled, basically useless to me. Not happy at all.

Yes, unfortunately the grease caps do not typically come with individual labels. The easiest way to distinguish between them will be to measure the outer diameter to determine their sizes.

This needs a redesign. Very interesting in 2025 that we are reaching Mars and making Humanoid robots this company can’t make a piece of metal right that fits in place. I have gone through numerous ones and non of them fit without being deformed and loss of functionality. I keep losing them. Who is responsible for the potential damage to the trailer, boat or even loss of lives?
The metal is very thin and the plugs just flop around and don't seal at all sadly. If you tried to use them it would let lots of water in your hubs on a boat trailer or just driving in the rain with any trailer. I thought the stainless would look nice but not able to use them - being returned.
Pretty well made product, it seems the silicon rubber seal is far better engineered and more durable than typical rubber plug on most EZ lube style caps.

Hey Philipp. Sorry that the cap isn't fitting right. There are a few different hub bore sized for a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern hub. Did you happen to get the inner diameter of the opening where the cap goes?
