What Suspension Enhancement can I Add to My 2024 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 for Sway?

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/25/2025

Question:

Hello, I am interested in the Timbren rear suspension system for a 2024 MB 3500 Sprinter for LTV Unity. Can you tell me the difference between the 35A and the 35B? I am looking to reduce the instability and sway. Thank you

Hello Mara,

Happy to clarify the difference!

The # TMBRSP35B is rated for 11K, while the # TMBRSP35A is rated for 7K.

Timbrens are a great option, especially for someone who consistently hauls a heavy load. However, if you’re not carrying that kind of weight all the time, they can make your ride feel a bit harsh when unloaded.

If you're looking for something similar to Timbrens but with a smoother, more forgiving ride when not under load, I’d recommend going with SumoSprings. Here are the options based on your drivetrain:

- 2-Wheel Drive: SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-338-47

- 4-Wheel Drive: SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs - 2 Piece - Rear Axle # SS55FR

Another excellent upgrade to improve handling and reduce sway is the Hellwig Rear Anti-Sway Bar - 1-5/16" Diameter # HE54FR. You could always start with the SumoSprings for immediate support, and add the sway bar later if you feel you need more stability.

Any big adventures this summer? Been anywhere fun, or do you have a trip planned?

Hey Mara, Did you decide to go with the Timbrens or try out the SumoSprings for your Sprinter? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, especially with reducing sway and instability. Your experience could really help others in a similar situation!
