Capacity of Curt Dual Hitch Extender

Question:
I purchased a hitch from you some years ago. My question is: How much weight can the upper portion of the hitch hold. I have 2 ebikes plus the bike rack weighing about 150lbs. Will this be an issue or is it strong enough to hold these bikes on a long trip.

Hi Ghi; the Curt Dual Hitch Extender # D-192 can handle your e-bikes and bike rack. The 350 lb tongue weight capacity is for the entire extension. The individual receivers do not have a set capacity. The only restriction is that the top receiver can only be used for accessories like a bike rack, not towing.
Where are you headed with your e-bikes?

Hi Robin, thank you for your response. We'll be making an over 4000 mile trip one way from the west coast to the south to Florida, with many stops in between and back again along the East coast into Canada and back to the West again. In the past we pulled a trailer with the bikes in it, but this time they have to travel on the upper part of the hitch. Thanks again.
