Question:
I have a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. My manual says towing capacity is 2000 lbs. Your hitches listed for my vehicle show 3500lb towing capacity. Whats what here? How much can I tow?

Hey Joe! Don't worry, this is a pretty common question. When it comes to towing you are always limited by the lowest rated component. Trailer hithes are often capable of handling more than the vehicle they're designed for.
Even though a hitch like the etrailer # e66AR has a max gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs you're still limited to the 2,000 lb towing capacity of the vehicle. You will also need wiring # C59236 and a ball mount # e38NR to complete your setup.
What kind of trailer are you towing?
