This hitch opens up all kinds of possibilities—towing small trailers, hauling a utility cart, or adding a bike rack or cargo carrier. It’s rated for a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 400 lbs. With weight distribution, those limits rise to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW. The standard 2" x 2" receiver works with most common towing accessories, so you can connect what you already have without extra adapters.

The distance between the frame mounting plates should be increased by .5 inches. The insides of the mounting plates rub against the trunk tub.
I was able to install the trailer hitch on my 2011 Marqui by myself.
I utilized 3 jacks secured the car with supports.It went very smoothley.
After watching the Videos Several times, it was very easy.
Then I watched several times the videos on the installation of the electrical harness, it went very smooth as well.

It’s a decent hitch, not difficult to install. The directions were kind of generic it seemed to try and cover a more broad group of vehicles that it fits for. If you’re installing on a 2007-ish to 2011 crown Vic make sure you put just one single square washer spacer between frame and hitch in the hole closest to the front of the car and two square washer spacers between the frame and hitch for the bolts at the back of the car.
I’m very impressed with heavy gauge metal and quality of this receiver hitch. I will tell everyone about etrailer.

Simple to install came with all hardware and s very unique tool to get attach bolts into frame. Instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Install took approximately 2 hours.
Hitch has been great! I've installed it on my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. It is barely noticeable underneath the bumper.
Worked great hauled trailers that were probably too big and it did great and I had 0 issues
It's been on the vehicle now for a year and I haven't had a chance to use it yet.The installation wasn't too bad and I installed it by myself with the help of a floor jack with a piece of wood to balance it. Had it done within a hour.The only problem is that it scrapes every once in a while pulling in and out of some parking lots even if I approach them at an angle.If the horizontal tube was notched out on three sides (front,back,bottom)for the receiver tube to sit up inside would be better and less of a chance of it scraping..It would take a little longer to fabricate and a little longer to weld,but it would resolve the issue ! Or weld a 1/4"x 2"x 4" or 5"long piece of flat bar to the bottom as a skid plate! Notching the horizontal tube would be cleaner though!!
The Kit arrived complete as ordered. Some small issues with installation, but working as intended.
Ordered the reciever Thanksgiving afternoon it arrived Saturday afternoon....FAST!!! It was as described, good price. I installed it 12/4 (yesterday). 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis 56000 miles. Great tracking too.

Its nice to have but I have to be careful when pulling out of certain driveways as it will bottom out, I will have to install air ride control shocks.

Im glad I purchased it and the wiring harness, its been useful in pulling a rented small trailer.
Well made hitch and easy to install on my '09 Grand Marquis. The welds were nice and the hitch was completely coated with a tough paint. It's heavy enough to need either a helper or floor jack to hold it in place while marking the spots to drill in the frame. I also received my order sooner than exppected, 2 days. Thanks ETRAILER. Truly great service.
