Question:
I have a Crossroads 5th wheel 32BH 37 ft. The main air is a Dometic Freshet 3 15k that is ducted through the whole camper. 1 duct in each bathroom, 1 duct in front bedroom, 1 duct in back bunk roomconverting into an office, and 2 ducts in main room. There is a Dometic freshet 3 13.5 in the back bunk room. Nothing in front bedroom but there is a vent over the bed. We live in Arizona full time - so we are in 110+ heat regularly. We have added a portable inverter air to help the main air - but in this heat the inside is still 82. I know I want inverter airs for the best performance - at this moment I am thinking of eventually having 3 air conditioners - I will have to run electric to the front bedroom. Wondering - if I were to do chill cubes in all 3 places, should the main one still be ducted - or just make it a ductless. Kind of thinking the ductless might be more efficient, but also wondering if its still a good idea for the main to still provide air everywhere even though 18k in front and back is over kill or more than plenty for the smaller areas. I know someone who has 2 chill cubes in Arizona and in the 113 degree heat - it was 72 inside.

Hey Michael, Chill Cubes are pretty amazing. It's great to hear about your friend in Arizona who is getting that much performance in that weather as that's nearly unheard of in that climate. I think I would still recommend using the ducting of your RV but it is your call. The ductless kits are part # FR59TD and the ducted kits are part # FR39TD. This also has a blow down style vent too so you'd always be able to have it basically just blow straight down similar to a ductless. You probably already know this but these are super quiet and draw low amperage as well.

Hey Michael, how did the decision go with the ducted versus ductless Chill Cubes for your RV? I'm curious to know what you chose and how it's working out for you in the Arizona heat. Your experience could really help others looking to stay cool in similar conditions.
