Save your back and load a heavy deer or generator into and out of your truck bed with this hitch-mounted hoist. You can rotate the hoist until your load is positioned over the bed and use the winch to lower it.
Features:
Specs:
You're an avid hunter who's just taken down a large buck during your hunting trip, and you want to haul it home to your garage for processing. Or perhaps you're going dry camping in your RV and need to bring an extra generator with you so you can run your AC and stove. This hitch-mounted hoist makes it easier for you to load a heavy deer, generator, 5th wheel hitch, cooler, e-bike, propane tank, and more into the bed of your pickup truck. This prevents you from trying to manually lift the load up and hurting your back.
Because the hitch adapter is extended out, you will be able to lower the tailgate all the way down without interference. You'll need to unspool the cable, which is long enough to reach a large bag, cooler or other gear up to 26' away. Depending on what you are wanting to hoist into your truck bed, you may need a tree strap or ratchet strap (sold separately) to secure it to the hook. The strong, galvanized cable and hook can bear the weight of a deer or generator, and they won't corrode if it's raining or snowing.
To put your cargo into your truck bed, turn the built-in pawl mechanism away from you before cranking the handle next to it clockwise. The molded, plastic-coated handle is comfortable to hold for longer periods of time, and it won't freeze your hands if it's cold outside and you forgot your gloves at home. As you're turning the handle, the machined aluminum pulleys at the top make sure the load is hoisted straight up without the cable binding up.
When your gear has been lifted to where you need it, let go of the handle, and the pawl will automatically stop it from crashing to the ground. You can then rotate the vertical upright up to 360 degrees so you can easily position the load where you need it. Then turn the pawl toward you and crank the handle counterclockwise to slowly lower your cargo to the truck bed. Make sure you remove the assembled upright and winch before driving off the campsite. The rack has a slim profile, so you'll be able to throw it in your truck bed or RV storage compartment.
Once the winch and top upright have been assembled with the included hardware, secure the hitch adapter into your truck's hitch receiver using a hitch pin and clip (sold separately). If you're noticing any wobbling in the rack, especially when it's holding a load, you could switch out the hitch pin and clip for an anti-rattle hitch lock (sold separately) instead. Once the hitch adapter is in place, insert the bottom upright onto the hitch adapter, and then connect the winch assembly to the top of the upright.

Just assembled it and loaded a 110 lb generator for those dry camping days. It will also come in handy to lift the larger propane tanks to get refilled and set back on the tongue rack. That's 70 lbs my old back will not visit!
This hoist is quite tall so I shortened it by 13" as I do not need to load a deer over the tailgate. Now it is easier to attach the upper boom section (heaviest). Be careful when lowering any load as the winch handle wants to go ballistic. It is fairly well made and so simple that not much can go wrong.
My 5th wheel hitch uses of 2/3 of my short bed and in the camping off season it makes sense to take it out after we winterize and store the rig, and then put it back in after we dewinterize it in the spring. But it weighs over 150 pounds and my back has already seen it's best days. I needed some help and I got it with the Rack Jack II. I was able to get the hitch out of my truck and into my garage with no lifting at all and minimal cranking effort. It's not perfect but for the price it's a winner. The system does have two weak spots: The pivot point will quick grind away the paint under load where the two metal painted surfaces meet. I will fix this by cutting a plastic washer to fit out of some plastic scrap, but it should have been included. The other is the winch, because the windings don't tension neatly, so if they shift under load your suspended object may suddenly drop a short distance, which will but additional stress on everything and may cause shifting. It may also not free spool easily. Overall though, I'm glad I bought it.
Worked well on recent pronghorn hunt. Quick and easy set-up. Easy to lift animals up and down and rotate it around. Great to have the tailgate down to set knives, saws and quarters on.
Needed a hoist to load generator and other awkword items. This hoist is just the size and value for my needs.
Super fast two day free delivery was excellent too. It went together fast, and works flawlessly!
Five stars all the way!

The product is nice but it could use a stabilizer to keep it from leaning when picking up an item with a little weight.
It looks ok , haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet . I hope it does the job .

Good I use it often to load and unload a couple of tools that are heavy and bulky.
We bought this lift to get our 204 lb Generator on and off our pickup, as we are full time RV'ers we use the lift often when dry camping. When we use it we always comment how lucky we are to have found this lift. It lifts easy and comes apart in 3 pieces, easy to store and easy to set up.
Thanks
I bought the Viking Solutions Rack Jack hoist with winch to make my life easier when loading my generator for extended camping trips. Lived up to expectations, worked out perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

I have had the chance to use my hoist on several camping expeditions. Besides lifting my generator, I have used it to lift many other heavy items. Stress free lifting.
A good product but unable to get a clear answer from the manufacturer. Due to an injury, I needed a way to easily load my portable generator and materials into my truck bed. This lift appears to be a perfect fit - assembly was easy and no issues attaching to my truck. However, included with the packaging was a seperate instruction sheet for the gear winch which warns "For pulling only, not for lifting". Both etrailer and I were confused by this and the manufacturer wouldn't give me a straight answer. They told me that "it would be fine, for up to 600 pounds", even though the instructions state "do not exceed 300 pounds"? I'll stay below 200 pounds, just to be safe.

It sounds like you accidentally received another instruction packet for a different item in your order by mistake. This item is made for lifting up to 300lbs.
Iam satisfied with the product however there were some fixes that I needed t0o repair such as the tab on the pully wheel was bent in and the tab on the boom was also bent in. That is some tough steel but I managed to fix it except the pully does not run true(it wobbles)but I can live with that, other then those snaffues it works well
This hoist is a beast, I could barely pick the package up. All parts were there and put it together in 30 minutes. I bought it to hoist the Jazzy go round into the bed of my truck which I bought for my wife. The picture says it all, up and in with very little effort.
Thanks to Crystal K. for sending me my bad back solution for picking up 130 + pound generator to put in my 36 inch high truck bed. Well made, easy assembly, does the job, no fuss no muss. can now camp with electricity.

best thing for a 73 year old to load things in my truck bed. 130 lb. generator, small riding mower, 2 heavy electric bicycles. any ideas on a wedge to stop wobble in base of rack jack?
I received this product via UPS on Sept 14, 2021. The packaging had a couple of minor holes/tears but not enough to affect the contents.
I inventoried the contents and noticed some differences between the hardware called out in the instructions and what was actually included.
1. The nuts and bolts attaching the winch to the upper boom assembly are 13mm not 8mm.
2. The clevis bolts and cotter pins are 12mm nuts and bolts. The threaded portion of the bolt will start cutting into the aluminum pully under any load.
3. The coupling locking nuts and bolts are 17mm.
The instructions do not call out all the tools required, it only calls for a 13mm wrench.
Other folks have warned about holding on to the winch when lowering a load. I found that the release lever needs extra effort to engage the ratchet function.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with the product.
I’ll be shopping around to find a plastic or Teflon ring/washer to place around the mast pivot tube to eliminate the excessive play between it and the mast.
I’ll also probably replace the cable with some poly line.
Great purchase! Good quality product. Strong, easy to assemble and use. I have recommended to family and stand by my suggestion. I use it to load a 3500 watt Generator into my truck. Sure saves my back! Glad I found it when I did.

still working strong. used it for clearing our land, lifting Generators, water tanks, rocks, pallets etc. No issues with it at all.
I use this to lift my fifth wheel mount into the back of my Ram 3500 Tradesman Dually. My hit has to weigh 150+. I'm 73 and am still able to lift it myself, but then there are those days that I need the help of this hoist. It works well and has saved my back on many occasions.
, I bought a Patriot hitch and it's quite heavy to lift up into the truck alone. I bought the hitch jack, and am very pleased. It's easy to use and doesn't take up much space to store.
The bar that is welded to the hitch mount that you put the rack on bent. Having to pay $100 to have it fixed. It's currently in the shop for repair.
Well made. Read the warning about pinch areas when installing. Don't ask. I made a washer out of star board to cushion the piece that swivels. Metal on metal is never good. Lifts my generator into the truck bed when I pull my 5th wheel. Saves my old back. Hopefully I will get another Elk draw next year so the hoist will be great.
Great price. Super fast shipping. They had it shipped in one hour to UPS. I have used the lift one time with good results. Easy to assemble and easy to use.

I used this lift multiple times. My close friend bought one recently after seeing mine we both use them for cleaning deer at the deer lease. Makes the job of hoisting deer for cleaning so easy. Welded a 2” receiver on my flat bed trailer for more options at the deer lease.
Works great loading and unloading generator. Also works great loading and hanging a deer to skin and quarter in the field. Only thing I would possibly change is the steel cable to a rope.
This hoist has been a great addition for my husband and me. We are older and can use extra help. We heat with wood in an outdoor stove. The winch piicks up heavy pieces of wood we swing over and start in the stove door, We altered it so it is not so tall, put it on our ATV, and use it in timber to help pick up and load wood.
We have been very happy with this Hoist.
I received my Viking Solutions rack jack promptly and exactly when you said I would.
It was easy to assemble and is well made. I expect to load a nice buck into my truck
by myself soon. I'm 65 and would have to have help without it. Also your price was
reasonable and you gave me free shipping!
THAK YOU, etrailer.com
Assembled it the day it arrived and used it to remove my 5th wheel hitch from my truck work great have a few jobs all ready lined up for it
I go dry camping several times a year. I use the lift to put my generator in and out of my truck. It was about a foot too tall to fit in my shop where I keep the generator, so I cut a foot off the straight upright. Fits now and works great.
Received rack jack and took little time to hook it up on my truck. Works great for lifting my generator.

Still working. Changed the wire cable for a 516 dacron braided rope that is rated for way more than 300 lbs. Had to make a little more clearance at the rollers. Much more user friendly now.
