Looking to Replace My 4.80 x 12 Trailer Tires with Tires and Wheels with 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern?

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/12/2025

Question:

I need to replace two 4.80 x 12 trailer tires. Theyre 4 lug. The lug spacing is 3x3. I saw you carry 4x4 aluminum trailer tires. You carry them in my size? I cant find them. Thank you

Hello Scott,

Your current tire 4.80 x 12 is a Bias tire with an outside diameter of 20.5" and a width of 4.8", the KR25 Radial tire (ST145/R12) with an outside diameter of 21.3" and a width of 5.7". If you have the extra clearance to go up a little in size, I would make the swap to the radial tires and go with the Kenda KR25 Radial Trailer Tire with 12" Aluminum HWT Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range D # AM31208HWT.

We do not have the 4.80 x 12 already assembled on the wheel, so if you wanted to stick with the 4.80 x 12 you would need to get the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80-12 - Load Range B # AM10060 and the Aluminum Split Spoke Trailer Wheel - 12" x 4" Rim - 4 on 4 # AM22318HWT then have a local tire shop mount them for you.

As for the hole spacing, you want to measure from center lug to center lug going straight across (please see attached image), it should be 4" spacing. If you are still coming up with something other than 4, please let me know.

What kind of trailer is this going on?

Hey Scott, Did you have a chance to check if the radial tires worked for your trailer, or did you decide to stick with the original size and get them mounted locally? I'm curious to know how it turned out for you, as it could help others with similar trailer setups.
