Looking For Locking Hitch Pin For Bike Rack

Updated 06/19/2025 | Published 06/11/2025

Question:

Good morning! I am trying to find a locking hitch pin to attach my bike rack to the hitch of my car. I am looking for a 3/8 inch diameter pin, but having trouble finding one that size. 1/2 inch diameter pins are too big and the 1/4 inch diameter pins are too loose. Do you have any recommendations for a 3/8inch locking pin? Thanks! Ashley

Hello Ashley, thanks for reaching out. I am happy to look into this. Can you tell me exactly what brand and model of bike rack you have? Typically, the locking hitch pins are model specific to the bike rack, so if you can tell me what you have, I will be able to determine what your options are.

Replying on this page is the best way to get ahold of me.

I have a Thule bike rack. It's got spots for 4 bikes and they hang down, I got it second hand, but it looks like the Camber rack. It does have the extra piece on the hitch that makes it bigger to fit the receiver on my car. My car has the dealer installed Toyota oem hitch, which I think is a 2 inch hitch.

@Ashley For your Thule bike rack, you will need the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2. Thanks for getting that information to us Ashley! Do you have a specific trail you like to take you bikes out on?

@KateF thanks! Getting that ordered now. You all are the best! We usually ride on the Rock Island Trail in IL, but always up for going on an adventure to ride, especially once we get the hitch lock ??
