Parts Needed To Flat Tow 2023 Jeep Gladiator With Blue Ox Tow Bar And Brake System

Updated 09/10/2025 | Published 06/07/2025

Question:

Several years ago I set up my Tahoe to be towed behind my motorhome. I am replacing the Tahoe with a Jeep Gladiator Freedom. I have the Blue Ox Tow Bar and the Patriot II for braking. Please help me with a new towing setup for the Gladiator. I will need the front base plate, light wiring package and the wiring for the Patriot II emergency braking. And anything else I’m missing. Thank you.

Hello James, thanks for reaching out. We have exactly what you need. You can absolutely utilize your Blue Ox tow bar and brake system in your 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Here are the rest of the part I recommend:

- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU53FR

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332

- Second Vehicle Breakaway Kit for Blue Ox Patriot Flat Tow Brake Systems # BRK2505

Please note, if your Jeep is equipped with ParkSense, you will need the # RM63MR Smart Diode Kit instead of the # RM-15267.

I am assuming you still have the power cord from your Patriot system, and that you already have safety cables for your tow bar. If so, that should cover everything. Please let me know if there is anything else you need. Replying on this page is the best way to get ahold of me.

Hey James, did the setup with the Blue Ox base plate and the other recommended parts work out for your Jeep Gladiator? I'm asking because your experience could really help others looking to set up their towing systems.
