Recommended Hitch for a 1997 Ford F-250

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/04/2025

Question:

I have a 97 F250HD that has a hitch already in it that is rusting apart. Do you guys have a hitch that will use the same holes as the factory one on the truck?

No, I am sorry we do not. All of our aftermarket hitches for a 1997 Ford F-250 require drilling new holes in your truck's frame.

If your 1997 Ford F-250 has the Standard or Step Bumper you'll need the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver item # BWHDRH25122.

If your 1997 Ford F-250 has the Deepdrop Bumper you'll need the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver item # BWHDRH25198.

Both of these 2" hitches have a class V rating with a 16,000 lbs towing capacity. If you have any additional questions, go ahead and click on the box below that says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey, did you decide to go with one of the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receivers for your F-250? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others with similar trucks.
