Replacement Hub/Drum, Brake Assemblies, and Leaf Spring for 3,500 lb Trailer Axle

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/04/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2020 Grand Design Imagine 2400BH with 3500 lb Ez-Lube Dexter axles 44400558. I am looking to replace the Hub and Drum Assembly, brakes and springs. Below are the components that I pulled together but I would appreciate it if you can verify these would be the correct parts. I believe the springs are rated slightly higher than what is currently on the axle but want to be cautious about not over loading the hangers. We already have the Roadmaster Comfort Ride shocks installed if that makes any difference in your recommendation. Hub and Drum: 4 x AKHD-545-35-EZ-K Brake Assembly: 2 x AKEBRK-35 Springs: 4 x e57SR Thank you, Matt

Hey Matt, the correct hub and drum for your 3,500 lb axle is the part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K that you referenced. The brake assembly set part # AKEBRK-35 is also correct as well.

The leaf springs part # e57SR that you referenced would be a solid upgrade as well but you do need to verify the length of what you have would match these. These are 25-1/4 inches long which is a very common size. Try and jack your trailer up by the frame so that you can get the load off of the springs and measure them from bolt center to bolt center. Let me know what you have and I'll see what you'd need.

Hey Matt, did you have a chance to measure the length of your current springs to see if they match the 25-1/4 inches of the new ones? I'm here to help if you need any further assistance with your setup.
