Replacement 3,500 lbs Leaf Springs w/ a 25-3/4" Center Eye to Center Eye Measurement

Updated 05/28/2025 | Published 05/26/2025

Question:

My Travel trailer has 3500 lb tandem 42 inch spread axles. I want to replace all 4 leaf spring packs and go a little heaver rated.. mine measure 25.75 inches at center of eyes with no load. Are the 25.25 springs going to be the right ones?

Yes, the 25-1/4" Long 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles item # e57SR, will indeed work to replace your older springs. You're going to be an inch shorter on your suspension travel using two of these so it will make your ride a little stiffer.

We can easily address this by using longer shackle straps. When you replace your leaf springs you also have to replace the hardware because it's only meant to be torqued down once. If you could tell me how long your shackle straps are from the center to center hole I'll be happy to find you the right set.

I have 2.25 shackles and have already purchased new 2.25 thicker shackles and wet bolts elsewhere. Hopefully I can still use those?

@KennethB Oh yeah, they'll still work. Like I said you'll just have less travel in your suspension. That combined with the new leaf springs will make your suspension a bit stiffer.
