How Does Andersen Weight Distribution Reduce Sway Without Friction Bars?

I dont see friction bars, just chains. How is this considered sway control when most chain systems dont offer sway control? thanks

Nicki, that is an excellent question that we've gotten before.
The Andersen weight distribution hitches work in a totally different way from competitors which allows it to remain lightweight, not bulky, and easy to install or remove. The chains you see are there to keep the trailer and truck as level as possible and are the actual weight distribution components.

But as far as sway control goes, there is actually a friction cone in the head which allows weight to push the hitch ball into the cone where there is brake-like friction material to stop the ball from rotating as easily. This is why the trailer won't sway as much after installing the Andersen system.

What is your trailer's tongue weight? This will help us pick out a system for you:
