Once installed and adjusted, the urethane springs stay under constant tension, working together to push your trailer back to center. Friction material around the ball shank resists side-to-side movement that causes sway, so you don’t need an extra sway bar or add-on device. The ball and tension plate rotate freely with the coupler, so turning stays smooth and controlled.
No more pulling over to unhook before reversing or making a sharp turn. The hitch design lets you drive in reverse while the system stays fully connected. That’s a big plus when backing into camp spots or driveways—you keep the same stability and sway control whether you’re moving forward or backward.
This setup is built for serious towing with a 14,000-lb gross towing weight and 1,400-lb tongue weight capacity. It fits 2" x 2" trailer hitch receivers rated for use with a weight-distribution system and allows up to a 4" drop. The kit includes the shank, 2-5/16" ball, urethane springs, chains, brackets, and the wrench needed for adjustment. Once in place, turning the tensioning nuts on each side is all it takes to fine-tune your setup before hitting the road.

Install instructions and you tube video made the process easy. Hitch worked as advertised on a test drive. Time will tell after some long distance tows. I am happy with the lighter weight than other wdhs.
Product is well made. Getting the position of the brackets on the trailer A-frame is tricky. I had to move them when I noted that there is a limited amount of threads on the chain bolts so too loose or too tight can't be corrected if the brackets are over an inch one way or the other.

From shipping to setup and hookup to towing the entire experience has been excellent! This was very easy to install, it is easy to hookup when towing, it doesn't make that awfull noise, and there has been no sway or sag in weight distribution. It shipped fast, the communication and help offered was outstanding, and the instructions that came with the item were more than enough.
I really like how lite it is! No more 90lb ball to carry around, tows beautifully no sway at all.
My trailer setup is not standard (big lithium batteries on the tongue inside a fabricated box). The only place I could get the brackets required 6 links to be cut off. I’m not happy about this but the trailer is under 4000 lbs so I am hoping it will still have usable weight distribution. I guess I should not have made this purchase.
I had issues with sway control from the minute I purchased this unit. Andersen customer service was fantastic. They assisted me thru troubleshooting. After 8 months of trying I requested a replacement or refund they informed me I had to go thru the company I purchased it from. I was certain that e-trailer would deny my request due to the length of time. They stepped up and spoke with Andersen and I was able to get a refund anthough I have to pay for return shipping as per the warranty. Great job e-trailer.
