My 1977f150 and the hitch which it says fits doesnt, the frame on my truck is wider than the hitch is

Hi Mark, it looks like you picked up the Curt hitch that fits the cab and chassis models of the 1977 Ford trucks. Do you know if your truck was originally built as a cab and chassis model which means it came with a slightly wider frame and was made to have a box bed, flat bed or service bed added on after it came off the line.
If it wasn't a cab and chassis model, then it was likely just the standard pick-up with a standard bumper, then I'd recommend the B&W Class 5 Hitch, # BWHDRH25122. If it came with a deep drop bumper, then I'd suggest # BWHDRH25198.
