Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Capacity

When the bed is full or the trailer is heavy, the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs keep your truck level and in control. Each bag adds up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to help reduce rear-end sag and restore even weight distribution. By keeping the vehicle level, you maintain proper steering and braking response, stable headlight aim, and better tire contact with the road.

Tune the Ride for Every Trip: Adjustable 5–100 psi Air Pressure

Every haul is different, and these air springs adapt on demand. With a pressure range from 5 psi to 100 psi, you can fine-tune firmness for towing, hauling, or running empty. Inflate or deflate manually through separate valves for each side to balance off-center loads and keep handling consistent. You can start around mid-range pressure, take a test run, and dial in what feels right for your setup.

Smooth Out the Bumps and Prevent Bottoming Out: Double-Convoluted Design

Rough roads and uneven cargo don’t have to beat up your suspension. The Ride-Rite’s double-convoluted rubber construction cushions the ride by absorbing road shock and softening contact between axle and frame. This design reduces strain on leaf springs, helps prevent bottoming out, and adds a layer of comfort when hauling heavy gear across highways or job sites.

Built to Last Through Heavy Use: Reinforced Rubber and Corrosion-Resistant Hardware

These air springs are made for real work. Each one uses four layers of reinforced rubber for durability, braided wire girdles to strengthen the double-convoluted shape, and corrosion-resistant metal end plates sealed with a rolled crimp for a secure hold. The kit includes all mounting brackets, hardware, air line, and manual inflation valves so you have everything needed for installation.

Ready to Pair With Onboard Systems: Expandable Air Control Options

If you want more convenience later, Ride-Rite springs are compatible with Firestone compressor systems like Air Command setups for quick in-cab inflation and deflation. That means you can start with manual valves now and add onboard control when you’re ready—all while keeping the same dependable 5–100 psi performance range.

This is an excellent system for this vehicle. It has firmed up the ride a bit but it is very pleasing at about 7.5 pounds. I can not wait to hook up to the fifth wheel. It was very straight forward in the work to be performed and for me it is quite rewarding.

No problem with these units. Very easy to maintain and they keep the load well ballanced.

by:

Easy to install and made huge difference in hauling a 13,000 lb tractor on a goose neck trailer with Chevy 2500 hd .
Did go with the "T" fitting to connect both bags together and it saves having to balance air between bags.
All parts are of quality materials and fit as designed.

I installed the Firestone Air Ride on my 2009 Chevy 2500 HD Duramax. I am towing a horse trailer with LQ and felt like I needed the extra support. I installed them myself and it took about 3 hours. Going to try them out this weekend. etrailer is the best. They have excellent customer service and I would order from them again.

by:

Haven't installed them yet as I'm still recovering from surgery. But have past experience with air bags and love what they do for the truck . These are going on my 2008 chev 3500 drw . We recently traded our tt for a 40 foot 5th wheel . I waited till we had the new camper hitched up to order as I wanted to see how much it made the truck squat which was just 2 inches . But with the condition of a lot of our interstates and highways that's just a little too much . Can't wait to get them on I'm ready to go play . Etrailer service was flawless as usual the order was well packed no damage and arrived on time .

by:

Very easy install. Superior to super springs and the like as no noise when not under load. Made a big difference in pulling heavy fifth wheel RV. Recommend highly. No broken dishes.

by:

Purchased the ride rite Firestone airbag kit for an 05 GMC. It fits perfect and seems very durable. Instructions were easy to follow and etrailer has very good videos on their website and on youtube of how to install. Fast shipping and will definitely do business with a trailer again! Thank you!!

by:

Pleasure doing business with E-Trailer. Order was taken by Suzanne, as she was very helpful and knowledgeable. Order was received promptly and installation was straight forward. Air fittings were prepped with a red thread sealing compound for an airtight seal. No teflon tape required. Great product! Thanks E-Trailer.

This is my second set after 7 years on the old ones, which started leaking. They work well and are reasonably easy to install. I haul an atv in the truck bed while towing a trailer. These level things out and keep the ride smooth even when not heavily loaded.

I suggest a trip to the hardware store for 4 stainless nuts and bolts for the frame attachments for anyone that might someday want to remove them. Those rusted bolts hiding in the frame channel were a challenge to remove.

by:

Second time I purchase this product , installed them on a 2008 Dodge Ram and now on a 2002 Chevy Silverado. If you follow the instructions you won’t have a hard time , steps need to be followed in order to avoid double work. Great product , took about 3.5 hours to install.

Awesome , no issues .

The Firestone airbags were very easy to install. The only place that I scratched my head was for the torque values for the various hardware. I eventually located it at the end of the instructions. It is common in the better auto repair manuals to list the torque ratings in the drawings. Just an idea.
Since I'm somewhat OCD when it comes to mechanical work, I always have a torque wrench in hand for the final tightening.
Your instructional videos are a real time saver. Well Done!!!
The air tubing cutter worked as advertised. Nice, clean and even cuts every time.

by:

Pretty easy to install. Instructions could be better. As usual, the next time would take half the time.
2009 3500 single axle Silverado duramax now seems to ride better without load. Will check it out under load soon.

Easy install. Cant believe I pulled my 5th wheel for years without these. Ride saver. No more broken dinner ware etc. great.

by:

I'm a do-it-yourself repair person, so no professional training. And I'm not one to follow instructions, though for this install I did...

Installed on a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 4x4 Duramax. When I bought the truck I had had the front end of the truck lifted to level it out, then put on tires two sizes up. I can't drop (don't want to drop) the front end back down, so I picked these up to help the rear end when I have loads or heavy trailers.

Easy to install! No special tools! In fact, only a 9/16 box wrench and socket, a 1/2 in wrench, a 13mm socket and pair of dykes to cut the zip ties. That's it! No lifting the truck off the ground (did remove spare). No leaks! Took about 2.5 hours (at my pace). Instructions were accurate, and what the paper instructions didn't say, the video that e-trailer has covered the rest.

Thank you!

Packaging of this product was fine, and delivery was on time. Pricing very competitive with other internet providers. Etrailer support is as expected....very good.

I and my neighbor installed this air bags in my 2009 Silverado 2500 HD Diesel to give me greater support while pulling my fifth wheel trailer (with a tongue weight of 2300 lb). Install took us about 3 hours to complete, with no problems what so ever (not even a leak in the air lines...which I worried about...cut them carefully with a razor knife). After the install and air test, I hooked up my fifth wheel and was pleasantly surprised how the ride improved. Would recommend this product. I put 30 psi in the bags and the results on the suspension we outstanding!

by:

Easy to install. Directions are great, as are the videos. I also ordered and used the T piece to make it easy. Just pulled my trailer and definitely noticed a difference. Very smooth over bumps. Just FYI, even at only 5 PSI (minimum recommended) it raised the rear of my truck almost an inch compared to the height before install. Not a big deal, but if you leveled the front of your truck like I did to get rid of the rake, you will now have some rake again. Not a big deal, but just be aware. I used the lift spacers (item F2536) because I have 1.5" spacer blocks on my leaf springs. I basically hook up the trailer or load the bed, watch the back end drop, then hit the air bags with the air compressor until the truck is level again. Rides like a dream. Would definitely purchase again.

Still works great after a year. Definitely makes a difference in the ride quality when you have a heavy load. No leaks. I used the T so only have 1 valve to mess with. I like having the ability to dial in a little bit of rake in the truck Had previously leveled the truck by cranking the torsion bars in front, also have 1.5 blocks in rear. 2007 Duramax

Great customer service. The only issue is I was told it would be delivered the next day. I do not blame etrailer but blame ups. It should have been delivered but ups wanted to make it sit for a few days and would not deliver it any sooner.

Placed my set of air bags on a 2006 Chevy 2500HD. Easy to follow instructions, everything bolted right were it was suppose to. Took about 2 hrs to install. Very happy with the product

by:

Still working great easy to install.

by:

Excellent product. The installation was very easy, it only took me 45min to bolted on and have it working. The installation video on your website is excellent, very helpful.
Thank you to the etrailer team for the excellent service, keep up the good work looking forward to do more business with you.

Ps. Sorry didn't take to many pictures.

by:

This was a replacement for the original Ride Rite system I installed back in 2010 on my 2009 Silverado 2500. With the AZ heat, I just started to get a leak in one of the bags and needed to replace. I decided to replace with the same system as I was very happy with the product performance and ease of install. I do not have a lift and did the install in my garage, taking my time in a few hours, using basic combination wrenches and socket set. The only "specialty" tool I used was a 3/8 drive torque wrench to set proper torque as suggested in the instructions.

by:

Package came In a timely manner and was packaged very nicely. Just installed tonight on my 2002GMC 2500 HD 8.1L. install took about two hours. Hardest part was getting the old bump stops off the truck. Instructions were easy to follow and understand also included torque specs for each nut. After install was done I aired to 15psi and drove the truck and was not disappointed. Came back to the house and hooked my 8000lb rated trailer up with 7000lb skid loader on it and 30psi in bags the truck was level. Pulled it around town and on highway and drove a pulled great. This is a great product and glad I purchased. I will do a follow up after the winter and let everyone know how they Do in winter w 2500lbs of salt in the bed all winter.

by:

Helped my 2006 Chevy 2500Hd tremendously

by:

I have had these air bags for a year now and love them. I own a 2007, 2500 Duramax and I haul a 32' 3 horse trailer with living quarters and the air bags give me a much smoother level ride. I installed them myself with ease ( I did not bleed or lose knuckle skin) and the directions where great. The only thing I wish I would have done is get the air compressor for the bags, but that was due to limited funds at the time but I will be getting the compressor this year.

by:

Good product could use better instructions for installation. Would be better if they placed them as 1.2.3. instead of paragraph sentences. The videos are helpful if they play properly. Took about 3 hours to install. Camping world wanted $150 to install them.

Hey Fili, so we do have solutions for air bag kits on trucks that are lifted like yours but it comes down to knowing by how much the vehicle was lifted to pick out the correct spacer. Hi John! That is a very good question. You didn't mention if you are using weight distribution or not, but if you are and the Firestone # F2250 air bags you got have too much air pressure in them, it will take the pressure off the spring bars on said system. This renders the system essentially useless. This is why you always want to set the air bags to get rid of sag before setting up a weight distribution system. Now if you aren't using weight distribution, to much air pressure can cause...
