Question:

I have a sterling towbar and i need a pair of safety chains that will slide thru the channel and connect to a direct fit baseplate for a chevy equinox what should i buy

Hey Timothy, if you no longer have the safety cables that came with the Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Tow Bar # RM-586, then you can replace them with RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643.

Hi Andy I do have the cables that came with tow bar,but they will not work because they have a ball on the end. I need a cable that would slide in the channel of tow bar. Also need the length of cable should I get

@Tim Ohh okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. You can actually add an adapter Replacement Roadmaster Anchors for EZ Hook Safety Cables # RM-910653 which gives your baseplates an attachment point for the ball style cable ends. But if you'd rather go with a standard style cable, you can do that as well. You should be fine with something like Roadmaster 64" Single Hook, Straight Safety Cables - 8,000 lbs # RM-645, but to be sure, you can measure the distance from the cable attachment points and take into consideration you'll want a few inches of slack for turning and unhooking (4-6" preferably).

@AndrewN I like the idea of those brackets but one of the reviews said You can not use them with direct connect base plate is that true
