Is There a 2017 Chevy Colorado Air Bag Kit?

Updated 04/28/2025 | Published 04/16/2025

Question:

Yes. I have the Diesel engine in my 2017 Colorado. Do y’all know why the 59533 air lift kit can’t be used. And if that’s confirmed can y’all recommend another air lift kit that will work for me. Thanks

Hey Vince, thanks for reaching out! **UPDATE IN COMMENT SECTION**

The Air Lift Ride Control # AL59533 won't fit your 2017 Chevy Colorado with the diesel engine because of something that has to do with the frame of your truck being in the way. I don't have any photos or anything, but that's why Air Lift lists it as not fitting.

There aren't any air bag kits that work, but the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS75FR are confirmed to fit with the diesel engine and they are the next best thing. You won't feel them when the truck is unloaded, and they get progressively more stiff as more load is put on them so you get the support you need, when you need it.

Attached is a sample video for you to reference - let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Jon thanks for the reply. I saw I think on y’all’s website that Pacbrake makes an air suspension kit and it said for diesel also but not XR2, model# HP10614. Can you verify this for me or let me know if it’s a mistake. Thanks again Vince

@Vince Thanks for the reply! Initially we had the Pacbrake Alpha SD Air Bag Suspension Kit # PB44MV listed out differently, but I did some digging and we've updated it now so it shows that it will work with your diesel, like what Pacbrake says. Our part number is different than theirs, but the HP10614 you referenced is the same as our part # PB44MV. Sorry for any confusion!

@JonG Thanks for the clarification. If possible can you also give me some of your thoughts on air suspension systems and Pacbrake I have no experience with either. ie; reliability of these type of systems and any known support and warranty info for the company if ya’ll have any personal experience with them. Thanks again Vince C.

@VinceC Pacbrake is a new company to us so I don't have a tone of experience with them, but what I can say is that the companies we do business with are vetted, so I trust the team that onboards new companies and I'm confident Pacbrake will be reliable for you. When it comes to air suspension systems, they are the best for people who are really wanting to fine-tune how much support they get. The only thing that is a downfall for air systems is just maintenance. You just have to check on the bags and air lines periodically whereas the jounce-style systems are typically install them and forget about them. I recommend sticking with the air kit simply because of the control that you get over how much support is used.
