Will Firestone Air Bag Kit Fit a 2023+ Chevy Colorado with Rear Shock Absorber?

Updated 11/13/2025 | Published 10/19/2025

Question:

The 2023+ Chevrolet Colorado has two different rear shock absorber mounting locations: inboard of the leaf springs for most, but outboard for the ZR2 and Bison. There are no photos or videos of this airbag kit installed on a Colorado, so I cant visually confirm if this will fit on a ZR2 without interfering with the rear shocks. Can you confirm - or even better, provide photos or a video - of this kit installed on a Colorado ZR2?

Hey Geoff, thanks for reaching out!

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F33VV install slightly offset to the axle, but it sits directly above the leaf springs and doesn't interfere with the shock absorbers. I don't have a live picture of this, but I do have a clip from the instructions that I'm adding to this page for your reference. I'd love to get your thoughts on it!

What do you plan on using the air bags for?

Hey Geoff, how did things turn out with the Firestone Ride-Rite air bags on your Colorado ZR2? Did the setup clear the rear shocks like you hoped? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same suspension layout.
