Recommended Dextar Wheels for a 53 Chevy 3600

Hi, I’m planning on buying 4 AM20766 Dexstar Convention wheels w /+.5 offset. 16” x 6” Rims 8 on 6-1/2 black, and also need the tires for them . Any suggestions- I’m almost thru restoring my ‘53 Chevy 3600. Thanks!

Hey Tom! I would love to help you with your restoration project but all we have are trailer tires. The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel w/ +0.5" Offset - 16" x 6" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - item # AM20766 get used all the time for projects like yours but our tires are not going to work.

The #PX1309SS Phoenix USA Baby Moon hub caps are compatible with the #AM20766 Dexstar 16 inch conventional steel wheel you referenced. This being said, we sell these wheels as trailer wheels. They aren't intended for use on a passenger vehicle.

The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel #AM20766 will accept the Phoenix USA Baby Moon Hubcap #PX1309SS without modification. This hub cap is stainless steel so it will not flake or peel like some chrome hub caps.

Do you see the three raised bumps on the center circle section of your wheel? That's where a baby moon like the part #AM90086 fits over. You need to measure that diameter. If it's right at 9-1/4 inch this cover is what you'd need.

Hey Eric, all of the trailer wheels we carry including the part #AM20353 that you referenced only work with tubeless tires. We don't have anything that works with tubes. Have you been running a tube setup currently?

Hey Scott, the trailer wheel part #DEX69FR that you referenced is designed to be used with the standard trailer wheel lug nut size of 1/2-20 like our part #LHLR103. This is the most common lug nut size.

Hello Cory. The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel #AM20758 is meant to be used with a tubeless trailer tire. Virtually all trailer tires/wheels made these days are tubeless.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.
